Rachel Scanlon
I work across arts & education, creating practical art workshops tailored to each group. I design projects that are open-ended and process led to allow children to take ownership of their ideas & find their voice, while building their confidence, learning through doing & developing practical skills. My practice involves 3D & 2D visual art, though I enjoy combining this with other areas – music, performance, drama, story-telling to create an all encompassing experience for children. This is particularly beneficial with my Reggio approach to EYFS and SEND groups. I also deliver CPD to teachers.
What We Offer
I regularly deliver sessions with EY, primary, secondary, SEND schools, as well as with families, adults and community groups.
I use visual arts often combined with other subjects such as drama, story-telling, creative writing, science.
I can deliver sessions based on art skills such as drawing, painting, silk-painting, mixed media, pop-up, collage, mask making, model making, theatre sets/props, puppet making, printing, clay, textiles such as sewing, crochet, patchwork as well as sensory exploration, process based sessions.
