JumpStart into Primary School Dance

Louise is a creative arts practitioner with a specialism in dance and movement and has over 20 years experience of delivering across a wide range of projects, settings and events. She is the founder of JumpStart into Primary School Dance, which provides curriculum delivery, one-off workshops, teacher INSET and resources, and has recently qualified as a Forest School practitioner. The ethos of all of her work revolves around enabling children's creativity and empowering their voices through movement, nature and dance.

What We Offer

- Curriculum delivery: bringing school topics to life and immersing children in a cultural arts experience (for example, WWII, The Romans, Volcanoes, the seasons)

- On Your Marks: a fun and engaging programme that leads reception children through activities that are creative, inclusive and ignite their desire to ‘Make their Mark’!

- One-off workshops: based on the environment and making a difference OR on significant events and celebrations

-Teacher CPD: building teachers' confidence in planning and delivering dance to their classes

- Arts Award projects at Discover and Explore level

- Dance Resources: lesson plans and ideas

Recent projects include...

Chocolate and Willy Wonka (Church Hill Infants, Thurmaston)
- six week curriculum project exploring chocolate with year 2
- focused on key narrative and characters from the story
- finished with a performance to the school

CPD training session (Ratcliffe College)
- half day workshop for KS1 teachers
- booked through South Charnwood and Melton SSP
- practical event looking at 'People Who Help Us' and exploring the theme through movement and creative planning

Diwali Experience Day (Newcroft Primary School, Shepshed)
- One day event for year 2s
- Explored the story of Rama and Sita through creative dance and gesture
- Finished with a performance
