Attenborough Arts Centre

With Gallery Exhibitions by Mohammad Barrangi and Letty McHugh

An informal space to network with peers from across the education sector, including practical explorations of creative activity tied into the launch of the new exhibitions by Mohammad Barrangi and Letty McHugh in the galleries at Attenborough Arts Centre.

Join Attenborough Arts Centre's Learning Team, and artist Pasha Kincaid to explore creative practice in your school, share experiences with fellow educators and explore possibilities for free school visits to Attenborough's spaces and cultural offers.

This activity is being delivered in partnership with Attenborough Arts Centre and feeds into The City Classroom's ongoing work around the Black Curriculum in Leicester/Shire. This work currently helps to promote and encourage the use of Black and Global Majority artists' work as a resource for learning - diversifying the curriculum and making it more relevant for our children and young people.

Activity is tailored to support SEND settings and SENCOs as part of the Paul Hamlyn SENsory Atelier Programme

About the Artists:

Letty McHugh is interested in the lives, stories and experiences of people. McHugh's work aims to connect and bring solace to people experiencing isolation and chronic illness. Her centrepiece, 'Anchorage', is a large textile installation referring to medieval anchorages.

Mohammad Barrangi combines traditional Persian calligraphy with experimental mark making, storytelling, large-scale installation and sculpture. 'Playing in Wonderland' will invite audiences to step into an imaginative, fantastical world of colour and character.
